The photographic images of Wilhelm Schürmann introduce us into a world that no doubt bears all the signs of familiar reality, and yet does not seem to be identical to it. The photographer, however, does not rely upon jugglery: neither does he add anything to his photographs, nor does he leave anything out. He takes photographs of reality as he finds it, and does that from the most common of all possible angles of view.
