Mario Giacomelli (1925–2000) photographed farmlands around Senigallia, creating surreal hillsides with radical perspectives and exposure techniques. Concentrating on the marks of the land, he made aerial photographs to intensify the verticality of the space, and also etched trees, mounds or holes into his negatives.
